Maddi

With the best memories in the world of this dear man and may he be happy now both his friends, Lilly & Maddi, have crossed the bridge.
I have known the Carpenter family for almost 28 years and have had the best job in the world of keeping their dogs smart. I first met Mrs C when I went to clip an Old English Sheepdog called Gemma and a hairy cross breed called Hatti. What wonderful times and memories. My fondest is when the girls return to the living room after hair cuts; the woolf whistles and cheers Mr & Mrs C would give to their dogs!

Dear Lilly and Maddi, I thank you also for letting me keep you smart. The last year of Maddi’s life was not easy for her with her legs and all the health problems an old dog can get. What wonderful, wonderful owners Clare & Mrs C are, nothing was too much trouble for their four legged friends. Now at home with little Pippa.

Bless you both & thank you for letting me be a friend to your dogs. Please stay in touch.

Molly

Thank you to Lorraine who adopted Molly from us some years ago and has given her the loving and pampered home she always wanted. Lorraine has kindly written a little about how Molly came into her life and the bond they have developed.

Molly was found abandoned by some bins as a puppy in 2013,luckily a couple brought her to Grande Daze. After a couple of months she was given to me and we have been inseparable ever since and I cannot imagine life without her.

Here she is lying on her sofa after a hard morning at agility, she loves everyone, playing ball and watching the television.

Its a dogs life!!

Démonstrations d’agility

Grande Daze est ravie d’annoncer que nous allons effectuer des démonstrations d’agility lors de deux événements locaux le week-end des 30 juin et 1er juillet.

Nos démonstrations mettront en vedette un mélange de chiens adoptés et de chiens de race, nous montrerons toutes les étapes de l’entraînement, avec nos membres débutants ( jeunes et moins jeunes) aux membres de la Team Grande Daze, pour prouver que:

  • les chiens adoptés peuvent être formés.
  • L’entraînement d’agility est amusant.
  • l’agility est pour tout le monde.
  • vous pouvez apprendre à un vieux chien de nouveaux trucs!

Le samedi 30 juin, nous serons au Comice Agricole du Pays de Chailland à Juvingné à partir de 10h où l’entrée est gratuite.

Le dimanche 1er juillet, nous serons à la Fête de la Chasse à St Symphorien à partir de 9h du matin où l’entrée est de 6 euros, ou gratuite pour les moins de 12 ans.

Nous aimerions voir nos élèves avec leurs chiens lors de ces événements pour nous soutenir, ainsi que nos merveilleux bénévoles, pour beaucoup d’entre eux, ce sera une expérience complètement nouvelle!

Notre espoir est que montrer comment les chiens adoptés sont heureux, bien éduqués et sont aussi proches de leurs maîtres qu’un chien qui est arrivé tout petit dans la famille, les gens pourraient alors envisager d’adopter l’un des nombreux chiens, et d’autres animaux sauvés, qui attendent toujours pour toujours des maisons dans des refuges partout en France et dans le monde .

Bien sûr, nous vendrons nos célèbres confitures et chutneys dans ces départements, c’est donc le moment idéal pour faire le plein de vos saveurs préférées et en essayer de nouvelles!

Agility demonstrations

Grande Daze are thrilled to announce that we will be performing agility demonstrations at two local events on the weekend of 30th June & 1st July.

Our demonstrations will feature a mix of rescue and purebred dogs at all stages of training, from beginners to competing members of Team Grande Daze, and a variety of ages to prove that:

  • rescue dogs can be trained.
  • agility training is fun.
  • agility is for everyone.
  • you can teach an old dog new tricks!

On Saturday 30th June we will be at the Comice Agricole du Pays de Chailland in Juvingné from 10am where entry is free.

On Sunday 1st July we will be at the Fête de la Chasse in St Symphorien from 9am where entry is 6 euros, or free for under-12s.

We would love to see some of you at these events to support us, our wonderful volunteers, dogs & owners, for many of whom this will be a completely new experience!

Our hope is that showing how happy, well behaved and loving rescue dogs can be will encourage more people to consider adopting one of the many dogs, and other rescued animals, who are still waiting for forever homes in shelters all across France, and the world.

Of course we will be selling our département famous jams & chutneys at these events so it’s also a perfect time to stock up on your favourite flavours & try some new ones!

Jambon à l’os

Thank you to everyone who attended our jambon evening at the weekend. A special thank you to all the volunteers who helped out with cooking & serving and to the brilliant singers who provided the entertainment.
We had a really good time and the food & music were excellent.

Merci à vous tous d’avoir participé à notre soirée Jambon à l’école ce weekend. Un grand remerciement à nos bénévoles de nous avoir aidé à préparer en cuisine et au service, un grand merci à nos troupes de musiciens.
Nous avons passé une excellente soirée, le repas et la musique étaient parfaits !

Jambon à l’os

Despite the recent downpours & localised flooding we are still going ahead with the jambon night.
Our very kind mayor at La Bigottiere has kindly donated the village hall where the dinner will now be held.
Come to Grande Daze as usual and you will be directed. It’s not far from us!

Malgré les pluies diluviennes et inondations que nous subissons ces quelques jours, nous maintenons la soirée Jambon à l’os de ce weekend.
Notre très compréhensif maire de la Bigottière, nous prête gratuitement la salle des fêtes où la soirée aura désormais lieu.
Venez à Grande Daze samedi soir nous vous redirigerons vers le village, ne vous inquiétez pas ce n’est pas très loin de de chez nous.

Vide-greniers 2018

Nous commençons notre saison 2018 des vides greniers par le Leclerc de Saint Berthevin sur le parking ce dimanche 8 Avril.

Le prochain vide grenier sera celui de Saint Ellier du Maine le dimanche 27 Mai.

Comme d’habitude sur notre stand vous trouverez beaucoup de bonnes affaires, des vêtements et des livres, mais aussi nos confitures et chutneys de renommés international ? !

We are starting the 2018 vide-grenier season at the Saint Berthevin (53) vide-grenier in the underground car park of Leclerc on Sunday 8th April.

The next vide-grenier we will be attending is in Saint-Ellier-du-Maine on Sunday 27th May.
