MY APPRECIATION FOR A GREAT EFFORT!

The demonstration at the Terre en Fête, St Germain Le Guillaume.

We have had so many events over the past few years and I am often lost for words to express my gratitude. The Terre en Fête, St Germain Le Guillaume on 19/20 August was one of those occasions. Everyone participating in the demonstration displayed their usual enthusiasm and skills, and we were supported by those who stayed at home to ‘keep shop’ (Peter and Denise) and those standing on the sidelines showing their appreciation. Many, many thanks to everyone.

THANK YOU – CHRISTMAS FAYRE

Great Big Thank You

THE CHRISTMAS FARE 2022 – GREAT BIG THANK YOU!

I’ve just surfaced after getting everything tidied up following an incredible Christmas Fare for the end of our fundraising year!

What a phenomenal effort, generous support and wonderful result. We can now go through the winter caring for the long term rescues, those ready for adoption but not yet in their new homes and those animals we are yet to meet! The future looks bright.

Your support makes it possible to pay for veterinary bills, special diets and grooming needs, specialist care for skeletal problems caused by injuries inflicted by abuse and also ailments like arthritis and much, much more.

In these years of austerity and great human need, we are aware that our requirements are way down on the list of priorities. We are very grateful for every donation we receive and every cent landing in our tins.

A HUGE THANK YOU TO EVERYONE from Peter and myself and all of the animals that you help us to care for.

HAPPY CHRISTMAS

The Glorious 25th June Demonstration

Bringing back the goods!

On 25th June we had a fabulous day demonstrating the work at Grande Daze Companion Centre. We started the day with Agility and Hoopers followed by Carole with her Gun Dogs, Piper, Harry and Dollar, showing off their skills. You can see the slide-shows at the bottom of this article, “The Action”, “The Gun Dogs” and “The Portraits”.

Noaks

The dogs participating in the event posed for pictures and Peter judged them.

The demonstration finished with much excitement and cheering for the Relay Race when all of the eager participants in their teams threw themselves enthusiastically into dashing to the finish line. The support of the crowd and their encouragement was overwhelming – a big thank you to everyone.

Lola showing what she can do!

The winner overall was Roxanne with Marie who has trained her dogs with Grande Daze for many years. Hot on the heels of Marie and Roxanne were Gary and Lola. Gary and his wife Wendy have adopted dogs from Grande Daze and helped us train the rescue dogs. They all enjoyed the day, especially with Lola who is a French bred German Shepherd Dog and at the age of seven and half proved that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

Nick Catling, a professional photographer, kindly took the beautiful photographs we have of the event. We have helped Nick and his wife, Tracy, to educate their dog. Thank you Nick, your contribution to our event is much appreciated.

A good day of fun was had by all!

THE COMICE DEMONSTRATION ON 25TH JUNE – THANK YOU

Saturday’s Comice was a fabulous success and an exciting event.  Peter and I thank all those who participated for their absolutely marvellous effort and for all the hard work both on the day and before hand.  We hope to have some lovely photographs of this event in the coming weeks and will post an article on the website.  For now, a BIG, BIG THANK YOU!”

The Demonstration on 12th June

You can achieve much with very little

We had a wonderfully successful day at our first demonstration for several years. For many of the dogs and their companions it was the first time they had worked in public on the agility course and they all did remarkably well. We congratulate them on their achievement.

Roo in the wheelbarrow

When giving a demonstration our aim is to show that it isn’t necessary to have purpose built obstacles or to go round the course perfectly. What we consider important is the rapport between dog and handler/companion and it can all be fun. Ordinary household objects such as a kitchen stool or a wheelbarrow can be used to give your dog something interesting to use to build up confidence and trust in the commands given. For those who watched us on the day we hope that you enjoyed the day.

Wonderful Response

We are so grateful for the support given on 3rd April.

Thank you – Vide Grenier Sunday, 3rd April

All set up and waiting to sell

We had a wonderful response to our Vide Grenier on 3rd April. We thank all those who worked so hard on the preparation and on sale day. All of us at Grande Daze Rescue are very grateful to everyone who donated goods and to the people who bought something. As always, we all enjoyed some delicious cakes. We will be able to care for the rescued animals for another few months.

We hope we’ve made you smile

A big thank you from all the woof, woofs, meows and chirrups.
